SB10 has passed out of the Alabama senate 😔. We are getting very close to trans kids being criminalized and health care being cutoff. Please call your Alabama reps and tell them to vote NO on HB 1 - the companion bill in the House. We keep fighting.
This afternoon the Alabama Senate will be voting on SB10, a bill that would make gender-affirming care for trans youth a felony. The companion bill, HB1, has passed out of committee and also awaits a floor vote. We need to mobilize now before kids lose their health care.
If passed, SB10 would deny health care to Trans and gender nonconforming young people in Alabama, and in effect mandate a form of Conversion Therapy.
This would place many young people at a great risk of harm and risk the further criminalisation of trans lives.

🚨🚨We need to mobilize in support of Alabama trans youth. This week the House and Senate will be voting on bills to make their health care a felony. If you can join me in fighting for trans lives. 🚨🚨
THREAD: Right now, we’re gathering both in-person at the Alabama State House and online to protest anti-trans bills. We need to send a clear message that trans and non-binary people belong EVERYWHERE and that those who attack trans youth have to face ALL of us. #ProtectTransKids
In 45 minutes the Alabama House is going to vote on HB 391 a bill barring trans youth in sports. In 1 hour and 45 minutes the Alabama Senate is going to vote to criminalize health care for trans youth. This is unacceptable. #ProtectTransKids
I am going to pin my annual tracker of anti-trans bills. Legislatures are starting early and are extra cruel this year despite the pandemic. The judiciary is even more hostile so we need to stop these from passing. I will keep updating as more bills come.
