The power of Georgians, people of color and Southern voters was demonstrated in November and again in January. Their collective votes and collective voices made victory possible.

We must continue to exercise that power to protect the right to vote & fight for the change we need.

Congratulations, President @JoeBiden and Vice President @KamalaHarris. Democracy has indeed prevailed, the voices of the people have been heard and we march forward working toward progress for our nation. #InaugurationDay

Countless times in 2016 (and for years before) I was told by people in positions of power that GA was out of reach and NC was "easier." GA has never been viewed in contemporary Dem politics as a state capable of delivering. But now Georgia has given America a fighting chance.

GOP chair of the Gwinnett County elections board on why she wants GA legislature to impose new restrictions on voting. “They don’t have to change all of them, but they’ve got to change the major parts of them so that we at least have a shot at winning.”

15 state lawmakers and 17 organizations are demanding the resignation of Gwinnett Co elections chief Alice O'Lenick over her "dog with a bone" comments calling for changes in law to make election results more favorable to Republicans. #AliceMustGo is trending #3 nationally #gapol

Threatening legislators by demanding that they follow her anti-voting agenda while echoing talking points of conspiracy theorists about voting by mail is unbecoming of her position. She must resign. #AliceMustGo

 2,943  145  1,155

O'Lenick isn't even trying to hide her bias against Democratic voters and voters of color in Gwinnett County. She has made clear that her only motivation is pure partisanship, engaging openly in rhetoric that is more suited for a political party hack than an elections official.

 2,404  28  622

County election board members and chairs should celebrate high voter turnout, regardless of outcome, not advocate laws that will benefit one party over the other. It also should be noted that O'Lenick has a history of racist statements on social media.

We are joining 16 other voting rights and civil rights orgs in calling for the resignation of Gwinnett County elections chair Alice O'Lenick after she threatened state lawmakers and demanded they make voting more difficult in Georgia to help Republicans win. #AliceMustGo #gapol

More than a dozen civil rights groups in Georgia are calling on this official, Alice O'Lenick to resign. "Alice O'Lenick isn't even trying to hide her bias against Democratic voters and voters of color in Gwinnett County," the groups said in a statement.

"Felony disenfranchisement didn’t exist in our state constitution until 1868, the same year Congress introduced the resolution to pass the 15th Amendment granting Black men the right to vote." @mmdodson

Thank you to @JoshforGeorgia, @BeeForGeorgia, and other GA House Democrats for your work to end felony disenfranchisement in Georgia. This important issue has gone unaddressed for too long - change is overdue. #gapol

Celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As residents of Dr. King’s home state, Georgians are particularly inspired by his legacy as we pause to remember his powerful words, honor his leadership and impact, and reaffirm our commitment to service. #MLKDay

Do you remember (Michael Jackson voice) when you:

-Gave millions to Trump lawsuits to throw out black votes?

-Campaigned w/ white supremacists & racist militias while demonizing BLM?

-Darkened Rev Warnock’s skin in ads & pushed violent, racist Q**on conspiracies on him?

I do.

 783  10  154

On the eve of #MLKDay, we’re working on eliminating felony disenfranchisement. The carceral system is rooted in systematic racism & an extension of slavery. If we believe in second chances & restorative justice, we must eradicate all voter suppression policies.

And we are proud to have funded GA-based orgs that mobilized a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, and multi-generational electorate. Georgians have made clear that we are a blue state and that voters - particularly Black voters and voters of color writ large - will not be silenced.
